Roland Audio destruction Patch Box for R8 / R8M, U220, U110, U20 The circuitbenders.co.uk Roland Audio Destruction patch box is an external patchbay case that plugs into the main unit via the sound ROM expansion ports of a R8 / R8M, U220, U110, MV80 or U20, using a custom sound card connected using a 25 way cable as an interface. This allows the creation of circuit bent digital glitching effects without the need to perform any invasive mods on the machine itself. Just plug in the patch box and be immediately transported to a full on jamboree of wall to wall noise terror!The patch box itself consist of a 20 way main patching area and three combination patchable switches / patching multiples . Connections made between the patchbay sockets result in the digital sample data being temporarily glitched causing all kinds of bizarre percussion warping and digital brutality to be applied to the audio. Connections can be routed through the patchable switches so they can be turned on and off at the flick of a switch, or via the patching multiples in order to connect several sockets to each other at the same time.The supplied DB25 cable is plugged into the back of the patch box, and is then connected to the sound ROM interface card which is plugged into machine via a ROM expansion card socket.What you will receive will be;Audio Destruction patch boxInterface card25 way cable9 x patch cablesThe patch box instruction manual can be downloaded from https://www.mediafire.com/file/m95fqi48mzltcme/ROLAND_R8-R8M_patch_box.pdf/fileThe box was originally designed for use with the R8 and R8M drum machines, but we found that it also works with any other Roland units that use the same ROM card format. Since reopening our centres, over 35,000 visitors of all ages have been able to enjoy some much needed Covid-secure outdoor learning and fun. Our online courses and resources have supported outdoor learning throughout last 18 months, but now it’s great to welcome real as well as virtual visitors.
My staff have said how good it is to hear children again, see them engage with nature first hand and enable them to make the most of their time with classmates and teachers in beautiful surroundings.
There is no substitute for the real thing, and many will have had enough of learning by being cooped up indoors, staring at a screen. Time spent in our stunning locations with our expert staff helps engage every learner as they connect with nature, teachers and peers.
Despite changes to course content, assessment and exams for 2022, schools are still being encouraged to offer outdoor learning and fieldwork opportunities. We all know the value of learning by first hand experiences that consolidate knowledge and fix it in the memory. Learners are still required to answer fieldwork questions in exams. We encourage you to come to our centres so that they can experience fieldwork first hand, learn by doing and develop knowledge and skills needed for work or further study.
There isn’t a lesson in the school day that can’t be enriched by connecting to nature, or a subject in the curriculum that can’t be enhanced by outdoor learning.
